All of our bands charge different prices, it’s best to use our online Get A Quote form with the bands you are interested in from our website and we’ll get the quote to you usually within 24 hours. The bigger the band the more expensive their price is likely to be.
What is the difference between a Cover Band and a Tribute Band?
Cover bands play songs from a selection of different artists and can provide music over 4 hours, some can even perform longer upon request. These are the most popular choice for our clients to give them variety of artists during the event. They also play longer than tribute bands as per below.
Tribute bands usually only play for UP TO 2 HOURS ONLY, no longer. They play songs from one particular artist mimicking that artist. EG: A Madonna Tribute Band would only plays songs from Madonna and they usually also dress up for the event to look like that artist. Tribute bands are generally more suited to corporate events where the client only needs music for up to 2 hours.
Does a more expensive band mean that they are better than the cheaper band?
No, this is not always the case. We have some fantastic bands that we represent that charge reasonable prices. They find that they win a lot more gigs with our clients this way.
I only expected to pay $200 or $300 for a band, why does it cost more than this?
They are professional musicians where in most cases this is their full time job. Imagine getting a group of plumbers out on a Saturday night for at least 4 hours, and see what they charge 🙂
Extra’s? – Are there any additional fees with booking a band?
The following may occur on some occasions:
- Travel fees, accommodation and meals may apply if the event is outside the cities metro area.
- Additional hours? – All band quotes are based on a 4 hour booking. If you require longer than 4 hours and the band is capable of playing longer, this is usually charged at an extra 25% per hour.
- Extra sound and lighting might incur additional costs for large audiences (above 200 people).
What do I receive for that and how long does the band play for?
Generally most live bands play 4 x 40-45 minute sets of live music and supply breaks music in between sets. This also includes the band supplying all sound and lighting equipment for up to 200 people. Larger audiences may require a bigger sound system.
Is it cheaper if I book the entertainer/s for less than 4 hours?
All of our entertainers charge their base rate fee for any time up to 4 hours. The reason behind this is because they would be unlikely to pick up another gig on the same date where they could make up the difference of their fees.
What time does the band setup?
We put in our booking confirmation sheets that bands are to be setup and ready to go 30 minutes before start time. If you require the band to be setup earlier and ready to go outside the standard 30 minutes, this may incur extra fees as you are paying for their time.
Am I able to talk directly with the band ?
Yes, once you have booked and paid your deposit to secure the band, we then process all of the relevant paperwork for you and the band, which also includes direct contact details to each other.
Can I use the bands microphone for speeches?
Most live bands allow you to use their microphones for speeches etc with prior notice.
How soon should I book?
As soon as you know who you would like to book for your event, book them right away. Most bands are generally booked up 6 months in advance but they do have some spare dates available. Generally most weddings book a year in advance to secure the band they really want. We can check the bands availability upon your enquiry.
When do I find out the bands name?
We supply everything else about the band, so you can view their full profile EG: Bio’s, demos, photos, song list and all of the promotional material they have available. The only difference is at this stage they are known as a band code number instead of the bands name.
Once you have made the booking and have paid the deposit to secure the band, we then send you the relevant paperwork which includes the bands name and direct contact details.
Why does your agency use “Band Code Numbers” instead of “Band Names”?
Unfortunately we found that a few of our potential clients were using our directory as a free ride to find “Band Names” that they liked and approached the band directly to book them. Our bands are honest and were referring the client back to us where they could but sometimes the band did not always know where the referral came from. So to keep it fair for everyone, we decided to use “Band Code Numbers” instead of “Band Names”
Its been working fantastic since the change!
Can you tell me where the band is playing ?
We only book our bands into private events, corporate functions and weddings, so we are unable to send you along to those performances. We do however have all of the bands demo songs at their link on our website to get around this obstacle, in fact some of them even supply us with videos of their live performances.
Does the band have more demos and promotion material ?
If there is not much information within the bands profile, chances are that the band never made more. We supply everything that the bands supplies us. If the bands send us any updated demos, videos, bios, song lists or photos, we usually update their link shortly after.
