Band 718 is a band formed by a group of long-time friends who have been involved in musical projects together for over 10 years. Made up of some of the best professional musicians in Perth, they have a diverse palate of experience to draw from to tackle almost any style of music with conviction. For this project they focus on getting a crowd up and dancing to the sounds of Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, Bruno Mars, Aretha Franklin and more; from the 60’s classics right up to the present day hits.
Perth Band 718 can function in 3 main sizes. Firstly as a 6 piece as displayed, but also as a 5 piece(no sax), or an 8 piece band with a full brass section (Sax, Trumpet, Trombone) for those that love their brass based music, such as Earth, Wind & Fire.
The band’s strength lies in their incorporation of techniques borrowed from their experience in playing a wide variety of other genres, leading to their implementation of full-band vocal harmonies and unique re-arrangements of the songs they play. The band has a true-to-the-original approach so as to never lead the crowd astray, but always allow for their own creative quirks to take effect and keep the audience on their toes. The result of this is a refined and vibrant sound that stands out amongst bands of similar style.
